Men die more than women from the causes labelled as ‘avoidable’ in public health, which is another way of saying that men kill themselves more successfully than women. Jewish men are not like that. Why? Immanuel Kant could not be any clearer: personal insecurity rooted in political vulnerability makes people cautious. Punishment for mischief – whether physical punishment or negative judgement – is harsher for the politically weak groups. They are expected to behave. And so, they learn.

Anthropology from the Pragmatic Point of View , Immanuel Kant (1798):

“women, priests and Jews do not get drunk, as a rule, they carefully avoid all appearances of it because their civic position is weak and they need to be reserved”

Fast forward to the present: today Jews living in the Diaspora are not only cautious as would be befitting for a minority group, but are also very educated. And educated groups, Jews and others, look after their own health. Today, Jews display longevity advantage all over the Diaspora.

This is a lot more to it. A lot. The sidebar on the right will lead to the academic articles on the subject. Before too long I will add data to illustrate some key points.
