This is a personal website of Dr Daniel Staetsky, an expert in demography, population economics and data science. The site is a depository of Dr Staetsky’s data and commentary on:

  • Jewish populations across the world, and the ways in which they evolve in response to migration, births, deaths and assimilation.
  • Ethnic minorities and majorities across the globe, and the ways in which  their demography and politics interplay.
  • Demographic laws and how these shape human history, in a way that is not intuitive and  often puzzling.

A variety of insights following from Dr Staetsky’s scholarly work are regularly re-worked for public consumption in several Blogs.  ‘The Diary of an Ostjude‘ has been active for a while, and there are also Blogs with ‘The Algemeiner‘ and  ‘The Times of Israel‘. There, data on ethnic minorities and Jews in particular  are made relevant to the contemporary political debates.

Dr Staetsky is also the creator of the YouTube channel Census & Civilization and a contributor to two Hebrew-language knowledge-dissemination projects: Coming to the Professors, led by the Israeli knowledge entrepreneur Alex Tseitlin, and The Channel of Dr Uri Milshtein, hosted by the distinguished Israeli military historian Dr Uri Milshtein. Through these platforms, his research on ethnic minorities, Jews, and Israel reaches wider audiences through documentary-style video productions.

Staetsky Consulting‘ is a business arm of this intellectual enterprise.
